ARTS: Impressionism


IMPRESSIONISM
·         Salon – France’s official art exhibition
-          Held annually in Paris
·         Impression: Sunrise
·         Impressionism – attempts to capture the rapidly changing effect of sunlight on objects
·         Claude Monet
·         Pierre Auguste Renoir – paralyzed
·         Berthe Morisot – family members
-          Painted her daughter (Julie) and her niece (Jeannie)
